Battlefield 3, releasing on the 28th of October, is the latest game in the best-selling Battlefield franchise. The critically acclaimed predecessors have paved the way for EA to make their most gripping and intense shooter to date.
The beta of the game was received positively far and wide after a few complaints about the map, Operation Metro, when EA added the fan-favourite map, Caspian Border. From personally playing the beta, it was easy to see that not only had EA nailed the open map combat that Batllefield fans have always loved, but has also greatly improved the close quarters combat. The multiplayer experience in the whole was also greatly boosted by the Battlelog service, an innovative, facebook-like interface for showing the world your greatest achievements in the game as well as match-making, which is now a breeze, thanks to the brilliant server browser.
As well as the brilliant maps and interface, the combat system and the graphics engine are both fantastic, offering jaw-dropping graphics, as well as some of the most realistic physics in terms of world destruction, explosions and bullet impact. In addition, the combat is usually balanced, with a strong advantage being towards players who think tactically and work in squads.
Overall, the game is as dynamic and intense as it is enjoyable, with some brilliant gameplay, amazing visuals and, last but not least, 64 PLAYER MULTIPLAYER.
See you in the Battlefield, soldiers!
