your custom built computer won’t run optimally. The min. amount of RAM
for today’s custom built computers must be 512MB even for the budget custom
built computers. 1GB of RAM gives good performance. DDR memory is now used in
all current custom built computers with the most common may be PC3200. DDR2
is mostly used on newer Intel custom built computers. Budget custom built computers
may still use older PC2100 or PC2700 DDR. When purchasing RAM, try to buy as
few DIMMs as possible to allow for future RAM upgrades if required.
